Life

by Inthefastlane45 @ 29/02/2008 - 00.53:15

Throughout the day I always think of things that I will blog about..but once I come on here at night I always forget.

I am surprised that english is going well so far this semester. My average is an A, and the same for math. I am a little nervous about my first test in my economics class. I knew most of the questions but there were a lot that I wasn't 100% sure about..but I couldn't see myself getting below a B. Either way, I will just have to study more next time(I hardly ever study that much).

For the past couple of weeks we have been getting snow-storm after snow-storm..and I was actually happy to see a bit of blue sky today. I am very excited that march is almost here and spring will be coming soon.

My high school graduation is(finally) coming up in june..although the school hasn't said much about it yet. It will either be in Philidelphia(where the school's main office is) or in State College(center of the state, where PennState is at). Even though it is further I am hoping it will be in philidelphia, so then maybe I would be able to take a quick train ride up and visit New York City for a day. It seems everybody goes there at least once...I feel a bit embarassed that I never been there yet, even though I live about a 6-7 hour drive away.

My valentines day

by Inthefastlane45 @ 15/02/2008 - 00.53:37

I celebrated valentines day by going to my math class.

Actually, I didn't really think about it until people in class were talking about how much they hate the holiday.

There was a ton(!) of traffic today, more then I ever ran into going to class, I wondered if that had anything to do with the holiday?

Class was boring..how exciting can math be?

University of Pittsburgh-johnstown is having a little program for newly admitted students for the fall semester next month. I am debating on if I should go, as I don't really have any questions that I can think of, and I only plan to stay there for one semester before transferring to oakland, the main campus in the city.

Actually, I've been thinking of speaking to somebody at the main campus about my situation and to make sure I won't run into any unexpected problems when doing all my tansferring of credits.

I am also considering a job. I really hate to get one when I am busy with school from high school and community college..but I will eventually run out and I need money for gas. A greenhouse is a possibility as they had an add in the paper a week ago, if it is still there then I might call and ask. I would like a job that would only last until the fall or so, so then I wouldn't have to work all year long. Seems like it would be an easy joby though, watering plants and probably moving things around.

Forgot to mention the Grammys

by Inthefastlane45 @ 13/02/2008 - 00.42:12

I forgot to mention that I watched the Grammys on sunday. I thought it was pretty good...apart from all the annoying commericals.

Kanye and Daft Punk(who I was surprisd to see there) performance of "Stronger" was my favorite. Amy's were pretty good too, although she did seem a little crazy(maybe that is just how she is?)

Speaking of her, I'm glad that she won 5(I think) awards. Shes not my favorite singer, but her voice is unique and so are her songs..and I always like something that is different and stands out.

Snow, Ice, Rain

by Inthefastlane45 @ 13/02/2008 - 00.38:30

We got a nasty storm here today. About 5 inches of snow(even the city got around 4.5 inches!), and then we had freezing rain and then regular rain. They showed video on the news of people on the parkway and it looked horrible. One guy had to stop his car, and as people passed him, some of their vehicals started to slide..a couple hitting his own car!

Luckily for me, the college closed today. It couldn't of happened at a better time since my school work seemed to have caught up with me. It seemed like all my classes decided to make everything due all at once. But I got a lot done today, being a completely free day without classes..and tomarrow will be another free day.

Also, Obama won in Maryland, Virginia and washington(DC). They say hilary is supposed to do well here in Pennsylvania in april, but maybe obama will gain some more support by then? I hope so, I would like to vote for the winner..otherwise it kind of feels like a wasted vote.

Rain and Elections

by Inthefastlane45 @ 06/02/2008 - 18.53:38

It rained all day yesterday, causing some flooding. Luckily I didn't run into any over-run rivers..but the city is supposed to see the rivers rise. Some roads next to the rivers will go under water..and maybe even part of the parkway..which will be a nightmare. Good thing I don't have to go into the city anytime soon. The joy of living by all of these rivers. I live in a small river town, but it will never flood because we have a dam up stream. I did have a dream once that the river did floor and was the whole up to the bridge and I had to go across. I remember in the dream that the river seemed more like a brownish ocean during a hurricane.

Anyway, we just had 'super tuesday' which seems more like a world election then our own. It didn't seem to change anything for the democrats(who I will be voting for this year)..Clinton still has a small lead.

This means that I might actually get a vote in april when my state(pennsylvania) has its primary. I am actually torn between Clinton and Obama..they seems to have small differences but seem the same when compared to Republicans. I will most likely vote for Obama though.

Ice

by Inthefastlane45 @ 01/02/2008 - 17.10:23

We got an ice storm last night, I didn't have to drive in it, but my dad left for work around 5, so he probably had to deal with it.

It is warmer now and raining, and we didn't lose our power! I was very happy about that. It usually doesn't take much to take it out.

I had my first math test on thurday. It was pretty straightforward, I think that I got them all right(or at least close) except the last one. It was a word problem which I find difficult to do. But one out of 19 wrong isn't bad and I am happy with it. I guess I will see my score on tuesday at the next class.

On to some bad news..it appears my dad may be going on strike later this year. Plus, we are supposed to be in a recession(luckily the houseing market does not effect us as our house is payed off), but still..not the greatest timing as I start at the university in the fall.
